Customer Insights
The collaborative sessions with Outdoor Ways CIC are awesome. They're fun, genuine and open. Jane, as a founder, brought all the key qualities needed to really maximise the value from our work together: curiosity, honesty, courage to explore, and trust that challenges, ideas, and uncertainties all lead to the authentic path forwards.
Peakpact provided the context for Jane to walk us through her ideas, visions, and actions. Our work was in asking questions, listening, reflecting back, and offering the best framings and tools for Jane’s unique context – allowing things to progress naturally and confidently to the next phases of the Outdoor Ways adventure.
Outdoor Ways has a clear mission to enable, inspire and encourage more people to spend time outdoors. By necessity, it’s a mission with a broad scope, big challenges, and multiple purpose-led routes to pursue. This is where Outdoor Ways and Peakpact began our work together.
Jane was clear that she wanted to get clear. The 1-to-1 sessions with Barry, Peakpact’s Director of Strategy & Purpose, were designed to let Jane lay out the maps, explore the options, and dedicate time to plotting actionable short- to mid-term goals together.
[Peakpact] did an incredible job of translating my waffle into an organised structure and format!
Jane knows the power and wide-ranging benefits of being outdoors – spanning physical and mental wellbeing, creating family memories, finding new friendships and deepening existing ones, connecting with self and nature, and experiencing the many delights to be discovered around Herefordshire. Jane also knows that many people face real barriers to unlocking and accessing those benefits. Outdoor Ways brings people and the joys of the outdoors together.
The Peakpact way
Together, we explored the mission. What was right for Outdoor Ways to focus on? When? Who’s it for? How to reach them? What services, issues, or customer outcomes are in or out of scope?
From there, we moved from capacity to action: looking at the skills and resources available to Outdoor Ways and building an understanding of how they will drive the mission forwards effectively.
Ultimately, these foundation-laying sessions were to amplify what the true Outdoor Ways adventure looks like and commit to the next steps. We worked to uncover the right strategy, map out the most useful milestones ahead, and identify the best outlets for the excitement and buzz that comes from launching your purpose-led business.
[Barry’s] relaxed and friendly personality helped to create a safe space to talk openly about some of the challenges or fears I might be facing.
Outcomes and benefits
From our sessions, we built confidence in the business and its mission by looking at desirability (is there demand and unmet need?), viability (is there business sense and long-term relevance?), feasibility (can it be done?).
From this emerged Objectives and Key Results, defined and broken down across 0-3, 3-6, and 6-12 month timeframes. We packaged this up for Outdoor ways as a guide and ongoing point of reference.
The goals are clear and ambitious; the preparations and motivations are impressive; and the adventure ahead is purposeful and exciting! We’re looking forward to the ongoing journey and success of Outdoor Ways, with Jane’s abilities and vision opening up the paths ahead…
I came out of the sessions feeling like I'd had a great chat with a friend.
