Peakpact is based in the Peak District National Park, UK. We collaborate with local organisations across Derbyshire, the wider East Midlands—including Sheffield and Manchester—as well as nationally and internationally.
We take inspiration from the National Park and apply nature-based knowledge to our approach. Peakpact's support is grounded in the realities we face, and ensures that doing good and doing well work together.

Meet the founder
Hi, I’m Barry I love being outdoors – typically hiking, mountain biking or trail running. I’m passionate about solving problems and helping businesses and people live fully and authentically. My professional background is broad. I entered the workplace at 16, so have covered some ground already! My experiences feed into my leadership: human first and goal focused. I have established and ran new departments to enable growth and created roles which tackle specific needs. I worked for over a decade in creative industries, producing sets and props for film and theatre, before moving into the Sustainability sector where I have over 5 years’ experience. In 2015, after a 5-month adventure volunteering in Malawi, I returned to the UK committed to a purpose-led path. An MSc in Sustainability and Adaptation (2018) included a thesis on the core skills needed to navigate complex challenges. Recognising education as a key lever for developing vital skills, I led research projects, co-authored the opening chapter of Bloomsbury Academic’s “Universities as Agents of Change: Green Academy to Ecological University" and worked as an Instructional Designer. In 2021 I moved into corporate Sustainability within the tech startup space. Roles included CSR Lead, and ESG & Sustainability Lead. Aware of the opportunities of 'good business', I secured €2.2m in investor funding dedicated to embedding Sustainability into business strategy, operations and product/service development. August 2025, I founded Peakpact. Peakpact brings together my experiences across creativity, business, problem-solving, and sustainability, grounded in the conviction that Sustainability emerges as a natural outcome of strong values, quality actions, and a commitment to collective thriving. I’m the proud Dad of two beautiful boys, born in 2023, and 2025. Peakpact exists for them – for the future generations. As businesses, individuals and communities, we sow the seeds of better business and better societies. Work, values, adventure, play, profit, purpose, life, thriving… not in tension. All in, together. I look forward to sharing adventures with you.
